Lasting Prosperity Ten Fine Steeds Porcelain Figurine Set This piece was inspired by Ten Steeds created by Giuseppe Castiglione of the Qing dynasty. This painting illustrates the valuable steeds contributed by northeast Mongolia. The power and magnificence of the steeds are used to praise the strength and prosperity of the Qing dynasty. The painting is vivid with smooth touches, showcasing solid drawing skills and exemplifying unique Qing dynasty characteristics where Western and Eastern palace painters learned from each other. The porcelain makes use of underglaze to showcase the different coat color of each steed such as the snow-white of Shizhiyu or the red-and-white of Chihuayin. The three-dimensional sculpture is also used to exemplify the fit physiques of the steeds such as the solid build of Benxiaocong or the energetic Pilixiang. The ten steeds racing through the hills symbolize the wish for careers to prosper and be successful.
