Story
This FRANZ vase was inspired by Van Gogh’s painting “Almond Blossom, 1890”. Large blossom branches against a blue sky were one of Van Gogh’s favourite subjects.
The painting was a gift for his brother Theo and sister-in-law Jo, who had just had a baby son, Vincent Willem. Almond trees flower early in the spring is a symbol of new life. Van Gogh borrowed the subject in his painting, expressing his love toward his newborn nephew.
